Your contribution supports the following programs on the Arts District Liberty Station campus:
Liberty School: A unique collaboration between Arts District Liberty Station and 20+ tenats, this community arts education programs bringing 1,000+ elementary students each year to the campus for yearlong workshop series dedicated to engagement and exposure to various artistic disciplines. From improv to dance, to painting and ceramics, to martial arts and cooking, Liberty School is a real-world learning experience for youth that hits all the senses!
Art in Public Places: These initiatives activate the campus with engaging artwork in open spaces, provide meaningful work and learning opportunities for early-career artists and curators, and offer ways for visitors to explore this inspiring, creative campus at their own pace.
1) Installations at the Station is a public art initiative aimed at activating the Arts District campus with murals and temporary installations commissioned from regional artists.
2) Emerging Artist Residencies Residencies provide workspace and support for early-career artists and creative professionals focused on visual arts and performing arts. The "Visual Arts" track offers residencies for a period of six (6) months; the "Performing Arts" track, focused primarily on dance, offers residencies of up to 18 months.
3) The new David G. Fleet Curator-in-Residence initiative is an 18-month residency for a lead curator along with their organization/team to engage with the Arts District team and collaboratively activate spaces throughout the campus with exhibitions, events, and other content.
4) Open Air Gallery is the self-guided tour of public art and activations throughout the Arts District focused on elevating visitor engagement. Great for all ages.
